METACRYLICS / Roof primers · adhesion, rust, asphalt bleed, and porous surfaces

Roof coating primers matched to the surface.

Start with the existing roof—not a generic primer. Compare the current Metacrylics primers, then open the substrate guide and technical documents that control preparation, adhesion testing, coverage, and coating compatibility.

How this product family fits

The correct primer solves a surface-specific problem.

Metacrylics primers support different jobs: Bleed Blocker controls asphalt oil migration, Black Primer protects prepared metal, TPO Primer is for qualified weathered TPO, Roof & Tile Primer penetrates porous surfaces, and Epoxy Primer supports demanding adhesion conditions. The written system and field testing determine which one belongs on the project.

Common questions

Before choosing a product.

Use these answers to get oriented, then confirm the current TDS, SDS, written system, and project conditions.

What does Bleed Blocker Primer do?

Bleed Blocker Primer is a single-component acrylic primer used in approved asphalt-roof systems to control oil migration that can discolor the finished coating. Confirm preparation, compatibility, coverage, and the complete coating sequence in the current documents.

Can one roof primer be used on every surface?

No. Asphalt, weathered TPO, prepared metal, tile, masonry, and difficult non-porous surfaces present different adhesion and compatibility requirements. Follow the substrate-specific guide and written specification.

Is TPO Primer also the default primer for PVC?

No. Metacrylics positions TPO Primer for qualified weathered TPO. Acrylic Clear Base is the current recommended primer path for PVC, subject to inspection, preparation, and adhesion testing.

Where can I find primer coverage and application instructions?

Open the selected primer product page and its current TDS, then confirm the roof-system specification. Surface condition, porosity, texture, and test results can change actual use.
