* Measure the lineal footage of all of the metal ribs where the panels are welded or screwed together, the perimeter (metal nosings) of the mobile home and any other penetrations, skylights, or vents. These areas, including the ribs, will be 3-Coursed with Gel and Fabric. If using a 4" width of Fabric, divide lineal ft. by 33. If using a 6" width, divide by 22 to obtain gallons of Gel.

STEP 1: Preparation of Roof and Application of Primer

Thoroughly clean the Mobile Home roof. Wash oxidized coated surfaces with TSP (Tri-Sodium-Phosphate). Wire brush flaking rust. Clean any new metal installed with an acidic solution such as vinegar. Tighten all screws and replace any missing screws.

Apply Primer @ 1/3 gallon per 100 sq. ft., with a roller or a soft bristled broom. Pour out a small amount of Primer to start. When finished, immediately wash broom and/or roller cover thoroughly with water and remove from the roller frame. Allow 1 to 24 hours drying time.

STEP 2: Application of 3-Coursing

For use as reinforcement of parapet walls, A/C's, perimeter flashings, roof penetrations, swamp coolers, skylights, vents, chimneys, solar collectors, etc.
*NOTE: Usually the panels are connected at 2' or 4' intervals. Fasteners may not be noticeable; regardless, 3-Coursing these seams is imperative. Using a rubber glove, apply a smooth layer of Gel over the area to be reinforced.
Immediately embed a layer of 4" or 6" width Polyester into the Gel. Press Fabric firmly into the Gel with glove.
Immediately apply a smooth layer of Gel over Fabric.
If desired, brush the wet GEL lightly with a paint brush. Allow 12 to 24 hours dry time. The Gel is available in White or Gray, the Gray Gel should be used in low temperature conditions, since it dries twice as fast as the White Gel.

NOTE: The HVAC or swamp cooler is also an important area of concern. Whenever possible, remove or jack up the HVAC or swamp cooler and 3-COURSE penetrations, sleepers (wood blocks), and vent or ducts penetrating into roof. Be sure to turn off power to the unit at the main circuit breaker before moving or removing it!

STEP 3: Two Appliations of Acrylic Base

Apply 2 applications of Acrylic Base @ 1 gallon/100 sq. ft. each application (a total of 2 gallons/100 sq. ft.).
Allow 12 to 24 hours drying time between each application or dry enough to walk on. *NOTE: Very smooth surfaces may require 3 or 4 applications or Acrylic Base to install the total of 2 gallons/100 sq. ft.
STEP 4: Two Applications of Acrylic White

Apply 2 applications of Acrylic White @ 1 gallon/100 sq. ft. each application (a total of 2 gallons/100 sq. ft.). Allow 12 to 24 hours drying time between each application or dry enough to walk on. *NOTE: Very smooth surfaces may require 3 or 4 applications or Acrylic White to install the total of 2 gallons/100 sq. ft.

*IMPORTANT: BE VERY AWARE of where you are on a mobile home roof. It can be very easy to step on a skylight and fall through the roof, or to back off the roof, or to slip on some wet acrylic.

Important Application Information:

* DO NOT APPLY products if rain is imminent within 24 hours, or during fog or drizzle. Metacrylics products are water-based and could wash off if not fully cured.

* DO NOT APPLY when temperatures are below 40° F. PROTECT materials from freezing and extreme heat.

* The Acrylic White dries slowly when temperatures are below 55° F. Dark colors dry much faster. Areas shaded from sunlight dry very slowly. 72 hours or more may be required for proper curing.

* DO NOT THIN or add solvents.

* KEEP AWAY from children.

* CAUTION! Wet acrylic is extremely slippery when stepped on. Use a safety rope around you on sloped surfaces.

* ALWAYS STIRE the Metacrylics Primer before any application. Do not stir the Gel. Usually, the Base and Acrylic Colors do not need to be stirred.

* Wash up completely with water, abrasive hand cleaner, or cold cream and a fibered wash cloth. Remove dried materials from hands and clothing as soon as possible.
